TEACHER BIO
Freyani Patrice was born in Queens, and raised in Brooklyn. Where she started her formal training at Restoration Youth Arts Academy. She later continued her training at LIU Post where she received her BFA in Dance Studies. Over the years she taught all over Brooklyn where she gained her teaching experience while working with the youth in her community.
She was given the opportunity to work with well-established performers/choreographers such as Karen Thorton Daniels, Frtizlyn Hector, Michael Leon Thomas and Ronald K Brown.
She judged the Step It Up Dance/Step Competition at the Apollo Theater, and choreographed the opening number for the competition. Freyani was featured in the New York Times for her performance in Saya Woolfalk’s “ChimaTEK” and Spike Lee’s campaign with Cadillac. She was blessed to apprentice for Evidence A Dance Company and performed on the Joyce Theater stage. She is currently a Core member of Pretty Big Movement and wishes to continue to push the envelope of dance while she still can. Fréyani is thankful to God, for her family, IFE parents and close friends, for their constant support and love.
